The United Kingdom’s Supreme Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by former US President Donald Trump related to the so-called Steele Dossier. The dossier, which detailed alleged ties between Trump and Russia, was denounced by the ex-president as fabricated, leading him to sue the company responsible for it.

The Steele Dossier Controversy

Published by BuzzFeed in 2017, the Steele Dossier accused Trump of various wrongdoings. Among the allegations were claims that Trump had bribed Russians and carried out “perverted sexual acts” in Russia, making him susceptible to blackmail by Moscow.

The court, however, did not find “convincing reasons” to allow Trump’s case to proceed.

The Man Behind the Dossier

The controversial dossier is named after Christopher Steele, an employee of Orbis Business Intelligence, who compiled the report. Despite the dismissal of Trump’s lawsuit, the validity of the Steele Dossier and its implications continue to be the subject of debate.
